Ground Floor Extension, Gosforth Walk, Brooklands
UPS constructed this ground floor extension with wetroom to a property in Brooklands, Manchester, on behalf of Manchester’s Service for Independent Living.
The project involved groundworks including removal of foundations and concrete floor of the existing conservatory, construction of foundations, new ground slab, brickwork, uPVC windows and doors and twin pitched roof with bricks and roof tiles closely matched to the existing property. We carried out all drainage works to the new bathroom, including installing a new inspection chamber. All works were completed in line with Building Regulations and inspected at key stages by Building Control.
Internally, we installed new partitions to create the new bedroom and wetroom and carried out all plastering, joinery works, decorations, flooring and tiling, electrical wiring including making good from the old conservatory, and fitted new radiators. In the new bathroom, we fitted new sanitaryware including WC, half-pedestal wash hand basin, thermostatic shower and grab rails positioned to meet the customers’ needs.
The customer was delighted with the completed extension and the new facilities will make daily life much easier for the whole family.
Our client Manchester’s Service for Independent Living commented:
“Sometimes we take for granted the quality and effort that goes into producing another superb bed/bath extension.
So I’d just like to compliment you and all your team on their professionalism, quality workmanship and attention to detail.
It was extremely satisfying to see another top notch job and the smile on the client’s daughter’s face, for who this facility will have a tremendously positive effect for her and her family’s life.”
